Praise the Lord for Lai Ai Iou’s baptism on July 31 this year. Her late husband Siow Ser Gun was baptised by Pastor Jeremy earlier on June 7 at the UMMC.
I heard about Ai Iou last year through our morning Zoom prayer meeting when Esther Soh requested for prayers for Ai Iou and her husband Ser Gun. Esther and Ai Iou were colleagues at Systematic College many years ago. The prayer group continued to pray for them even though Ser Gun did not accept Jesus as his Lord and Saviour.
On June 7 this year, we had a request from Ser Gun to be baptised. Pastor Jeremy baptised him. Later that day after his baptism, I visited Ser Gun to pray for him. When I arrived, I placed my right palm on his shoulder. His daughter Michelle asked me to be gentle to avoid hurting him. So as I prayed, I gently held his left hand. I was very touched when he guided my hand to his heart. When I ended the prayer in the name of Jesus, Ser Gun said a resounding “Amen.”
A few days later, on Friday June 10, Ser Gun went home to our Lord where “There will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away” (Rev. 21:4). Praise the Lord for the great things He has done.
