A Journey of Faith: Learning from the Churches in Taiwan

By Glenn Achang, HEFC

First and foremost, we give thanks and praise to God for His abundant grace and guidance throughout our mission trip to Taiwan. God’s leading and anointing were truly evident in each one of us, especially throughout our ministry and service there.

The Taiwan Mission Trip was a ministry visit organized for the first time with the purpose of getting to know the churches in Taiwan and learning about the history and culture of the indigenous people of the country. Furthermore, with the full support of the Church Board of Petaling Jaya Evangelical Free Church (PJEFC) and the members of PJEFC who joined the mission team on this trip, our eyes and hearts were opened in many ways. It also provided us with a valuable opportunity to work together and partner in future evangelistic mission efforts.

From a demographic perspective, the majority of the people we visited belonged to the Atayal ethnic group, who reside in the mountainous regions of northern and central Taiwan, including areas such as Taoyuan, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, and Yilan County. They are recognized as one of the indigenous peoples of Taiwan.

This mission journey to Taiwan not only served as a benchmark and learning experience for HEFC, but it also opened our eyes and taught us the true meaning of being ‘Obedient, Faithful, and Continually Devoted to Prayer in the Lord’. The churches and believers in Taiwan stand as a testimony that God’s love and hope are ever-present, and that He continually makes a way through every challenge and obstacle they face. Despite their simplicity of life, they remain obedient and place their hope in God as the source of their strength.

Moreover, the dedication of the believers in Taiwan, who are steadfast in prayer and committed to cultivating a close and intimate relationship with God, became a powerful testimony to us. Their example reminded us of the importance of nurturing our own relationship with God and served as a source of encouragement for each of us to remain steadfast in our walk with Him.

In closing, it is our prayer that the fire of the Holy Spirit that we received during our time in Taiwan will continue to anoint, strengthen, and sustain us so that we may remain faithful and steadfast in the Lord. We also pray that the churches in Taiwan will continue to stand firm and remain passionate in their ministry and service for God’s glory.

Hallelujah, Amen

Pelayanan Misi Taiwan 2026

Hallelujah, Amen
