TEAM OUTING: OFF THE CLOCK, ON THE FUN!

On May 6, our staff swapped keyboards for drills, rolling up our sleeves for a day of hands-on fun. From building woodwork masterpieces to unleashing our inner champions in games that had us using our hands, feet, and a fair bit of brainpower, it was a day to bond, sweat, and create shared memories.

But don’t just take our word for it – here’s what a few of our colleagues said about the outing:

Traditionally, our staff outings have involved a 3D2N trip out of town. This year, however, the team decided to try something different—team building at Kitabina in Subang, followed by a fun afternoon together at 1 Utama.

Kitabina was an amazing experience. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me to be meticulous in planning and executing my project—something I’m not usually accustomed to. Another highlight was watching my colleagues thrive, struggle, and tackle their own projects. It created space for mutual inspiration, encouragement, and a platform to share ideas and develop solutions together.

The afternoon session at Gameon was particularly enjoyable, as it allowed everyone to relax and have fun. I personally enjoyed playing ping pong with Mr. Chew, who graciously gave me a masterclass.

A big thank you to the planning team for making this not just an enjoyable experience, but also an opportunity for personal and team growth.

‘Luar jangkaan’ mungkin perkataan yang tepat bagi saya gambarkan mengenai Staff Outing Day yang dijalankan baru-baru ini. Keluar awal pagi, mengerah tenaga dan mengasah sedikit kemahiran pertukangan kraf tangan di ‘Kita Bina’, benar-benar menjadi suatu pengalaman yang menguras titik peluh, justeru kerana itu saya fikir ianya merupakan satu hari yang harus diraikan! ‘Unexpected’ is probably the right word for me to describe the Staff Outing Day that was held recently. Going out early in the morning, working up some energy and honing some craft skills at KitaBina was truly an exhausting experience, which is why I think it’s a day that should be celebrated! 2025 PJEFC STAFF OUTING was spent in Kita Bina — a carpentry workshop where we could construct simple projects, such as a laptop stand, cheese board or headphone rack. All of us learned how to use a drill, motorized saw, sander, clamp, etc. After that, we had a sumptuous lunch nearby and later headed to Games-On, where we played all kinds of fun games like foosball, darts, ping pong, mini golf, chess and bowling, which made me feel nostalgic. Overall, it was a great time getting to bond with my colleagues while gaining eye-opening experiences.

Planning and participating in the staff outing was a great opportunity to learn more about colleagues and even discover a few things about myself.

👉 “Who needs to leave early to pick up their kids?”
👉 “Who can’t eat what?”
👉 “Have you ever done this (woodwork) before? Seemed like you know what you’re doing.”
👉 “Wow, you’re good at playing carrom!”
👉 “Interesting! This pair goes for the Tornado Kick with both legs, while this duo prefers the classic single-leg strike.”
👉 “Wait! I don’t want to block the ball—I wanna throw it!” (Dodge Ball Simulator moments)

Exhausting but undeniably rewarding—a day filled with discoveries.
