A few months ago, I was approached by Aunty Gaik Cheng if I would like to help out at the Migrant Clinic on August 31 (Merdeka Day). At first, I was hesitant because although I was a registered pharmacist, I had no clinical or dispensing experience as I work in the industry. However, she reassured me that I would be fine, so with that… I said yes!
This was my first time helping out at the clinic but actually, the clinic’s been going on for quite a long time, and fairly consistently too during the pre-pandemic time! I met some of the volunteers and was impressed by their dedication – from welcoming people with wide smiles to being translators, giving their professional service in treating patients, praying for absolute strangers, cooking up a feast for everyone to eat and cleaning up the area after. I was touched by how everyone gave their best in serving all those who came and was moved by their heart of service.
I thank God for the work that He is doing through this Migrant Clinic! I pray that all who dropped in were blessed and experienced the love of Christ through His people 🙂
