Rethinking Work Through a Faithful Lens
Work has been part of God’s design since creation. In Genesis 2:15, God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden to work and take care of it. Work, therefore, is not a curse but a meaningful activity given by God. However, after the fall (Genesis 3:17-19), work became toilsome and challenging. Today, we often struggle to balance work with faith, family, and well-being, and sometimes, our perspectives on work become misaligned with God’s will. This workshop aims to help us examine our approach to work and realign our principles with biblical truth.
Navigating Moral Dilemmas in the Workplace and Beyond
Ethics is the framework by which we determine what is right and wrong. While the world often views ethics as fluid and adaptable to situations, the Bible presents a moral foundation rooted in God’s unchanging truth. In today’s workplace, we encounter dilemmas where integrity, faith, and practicality seem to be at odds. This workshop will help us examine ethical challenges in the workplace, explore how our faith should guide our decisions, and consider the impact of our choices on our families.
Understanding Money’s Role in Our Lives and Keeping It in Its Place
Money is an essential part of life, influencing our work, priorities, relationships, and security. But what role should it play in a Christian’s life? Should we view it as a tool or an ultimate goal? This workshop will help us examine our personal attitudes toward money, explore biblical principles on financial stewardship, and discuss how to align our financial decisions with God’s will.
Finding Contentment in a World That Always Wants More
Many of us spend our lives in pursuit of “more”—more money, more success, more possessions, more approval—believing that just a little more will finally bring security, happiness, or fulfilment. But how do we define “enough”? And when do we recognize that we already have it? This workshop challenges us to examine our attitudes toward accumulation, success, and status and to consider how these pressures affect not only our personal well-being but also our families. By reflecting on biblical principles of contentment and stewardship, we will seek to realign our priorities and live with a sense of sufficiency in God’s provision.
Understanding Time as a Precious Resource
Time is a resource that is both infinite and scarce. While the world will continue long after we are gone, our personal time on earth is limited. Unlike money, time cannot be saved, earned back, or stored for later use—it is constantly moving forward. How we use our time affects not only our own well-being but also the people closest to us, particularly our families. This workshop will challenge us to rethink our priorities and consider whether we are managing time well or allowing it to manage us.
Living a Life That Honours God
Life often feels like a juggling act, with work, money, time, and family all demanding our attention. When one area dominates, the others suffer—leading to stress, burnout, and strained relationships. This workshop brings together the insights from our previous discussions to help us recognize how these four facets are interconnected and how we can realign our lives with God’s design for balance and fulfilment.
