In God we trust.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91. 1-2)

While there is turmoil everywhere we turn, let us continue to profess our allegiance and trust in God, for He is able.

As the final mid-week encouragement, we will feature a conversation with Joshua Simon, who through the PRO initiative, befriended a migrant worker who subsequently came to experience what trusting in the Lord meant.

‘Everyone experiences storms in their lives. It can be financial, emotional, physical, relational or spiritual storms. How can we ride these storms? The answer is to cast our anchor deep down. The Word of God is our anchor. The Word tells us that God is all-knowing .He knows where we are . The Word tells us that God is all-powerful. He can calm the storm. So cast your anchor. Reach out for the promises of God .’

How can we help a friend take a step to the right? What is our motivation to do so?

In our discipleship model, as we keep moving to the right, we will arrive at the place mentioned in Revelation 7:9. Here, ” A redeemed people gather around the risen Christ.”

Each of us has an important God given role to play to add more and more souls to this crowd of people in Rev 7. This is our motivation to engage.

During this MCO, we can meaningfully engage our unbelieving friends and those who have wandered off in the faith to help them take a step to the right.

This is my HALT! I am Hungry for His Kingdom and His righteousness. When I am Angry, I can rest in Him to calm me down. Having Holy Spirit in me I shall never be Lonely. I am not Tired of meditating the word of the Lord day and night.

In times of trouble, its easy to be anxious.
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to not be anxious, to go to God with our prayers and petitions, to be thankful and having a peace that surpasses all understanding at all times.

So, how are you doing today?

Are there burdens or worries or cares that you need to bring to the Lord

What are the things that you can be thankful to Him for in this time?

I hope that we take some time each day in our quiet time with the Lord to bring our thanksgiving as well as our burdens to Him.

What have you found to matter?
What about your walk with God? Have you discovered more about yourself in the light of God’s Word, gleaned greater wisdom about life’s values & priorities, and gained better understanding of God and His purposes for you? Does Jesus matter more now than before? Is prayer becoming a welcomed habit daily?

We have learned new skills, gained new knowledge, grew more confident in doing things unfamiliar to us, even made new friends or reconnected with old ones or those off PJEFC radar for some time. May these positive, constructive changes God has worked in us remain. Let God continue to work in us His desired transformation, that is good for us, good for others and glorifying to Him.

Be steadfast in the Lord!
Be learners of new things everyday!
Be hopeful for Jesus is our living hope!

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”
(Hebrews 13:8).

How does Discipleship look like during this pandemic? For our faith to make a difference (what the bible calls ‘living faith’), the people of God ought to step into the streets where ordinary life is going on. But right now, we can’t even go out to the streets, let alone disciple them. How then do we live our faith today? What does a faith that gives life and adds value to the lives of our neighbour looks like in this time of unprecedented crisis?

John 14.27 ‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid’.

In the midst of the raging storm, we can have real joy and peace, it is supernatural, do you know why? Because it is from the Lord. And as God’s people, this is the right time for us to act in love, to think of others as more important than ourselves. Reach out to your neighbors, especially the elderly and those who are vulnerable or alone and lift them up in words and deeds. Many people are fearful, therefore, let us use this occasion, to point them to the source of your hope, your joy, your security, and above, the source of your real peace. May God bless you all! And remember, keep calm, do not panic buy, and act in love!

Due to the coronavirus outbreak in Malaysia and the public responsibility to practice social distancing at this juncture in our country, PJEFC’s corporate Sunday services are put on hold till the end of March 2020. The leadership will assess the situation again by then and duly update our members.
