James 1:2 tells us that ‘various’ trials will enter our lives. Part and parcel of living in this broken world includes failing health. Death stands ready to rob us in often untimely and unsettling ways. Jesus taught that we could expect the world to be rough on us, as it had been to Him. On a personal scale, people disappoint us, our loved ones desert us, our expectations remain unmet, promises are broken, the list goes on. But despite these hard situations, we can still choose to be grateful in all circumstances, just as how the apostle Paul exhorted us.

Join us in considering how gratitude and joy is possible in the midst of adversity, as we look into the lives of Bible characters who exhibited such attitude. Find out how we can inculcate the habit of gratitude in our hearts that will please God, no matter which station in life we find ourselves in.
